2 boxouses craned into the courtyard, and both up for rent on Airbnb!
There is still some work to do on the outside of the container but we're excited to have this unit out in the wild!
This week we finished two new models of boxouse.
One went into a lovely garden courtyard, outfitted with a live edge redwood kitchen countertop, bathroom and a cozy reading nook.
Boxouse 3.0 has an light weight stainless efficiency kitchen, bamboo floors and raw wood walls for a modern cabin feel.
We've been painting the containers to give them a bit of character quickly while we focus on nailing down then internal design aspects. For the primer I use a big industrial sprayer which, while it works feels like the most time efficient miracle and when it clogs feels like the bane of my existence.
The images I layout with a brush and and retouch with a small hand paint sprayer which I love.
The windows in the current house I am working on were set in a bit from the wall and I had a hard time finding window trim which would sit nicely over the corner so I decided to make my own from 2x4's. I cut the 3.5" side down to .75". Two cuts on the table saw hollowed out the corner edge of the board which gave me a nice rounded sill.
I sanded the trim down and finished it with linseed oil. I...
